Not only did the RDX receive 5-star crash test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)* for frontal and side impact tests, Acura is the only luxury brand to earn 5-star ratings for these tests across all models. In addition, Acura is the only luxury brand to have every one of its models designated a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. To earn the Top Safety Pick honor, every Acura model must have standard traction control and earn a rating of "good"—the highest score—on frontal, side and rear crash tests. The RDX has several features that were designed to help prevent or mitigate collisions.
