Inspired by a ring with two rows of diamonds, Acura signature Jewel Eye™ LED headlights illuminate a greater distance ahead and wider area closer to the vehicle. The low beams are comprised of eight LEDs that shine through 16 lenses, of which each is precisely aimed, and together shine a beam over a longer, wider surface area. This combination of LEDs and optical lenses is an industry first.

Faster, faster, faster The 1930's marked an era of fierce competition between Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union for world speed records. This competition was personified by German racing legends Rudolf Caracciola and Bern Rosemeyer. And 75 years ago, on January 28th, 1938, Caracciola established a new record speed of 270 mph (432.7 km/h) for the 'flying kilometer' on the Frankfurt - Darmstadt Autobahn in a modified Mercedes-Benz W125 race car with streamlined bodywork and larger engine capacity. Caracciola's previous world record of 193.8 mph from 1935 had subsequently been superseded by Rosemeyer. And now, in 2013, Caracciola's record from 1938 still remains unbroken for the fastest speed ever achieved on a public road.
