To enhance engine efficiency without sacrificing performance, Acura reduced areas of friction on both TSX engines. Reduced friction techniques include the ability to use a low-viscosity engine oil, plateau-honed cylinder walls, a pattern-coat piston skirt surface that improves oil coating, and low-tension piston rings.
