Thanks to short gearing through the fifth gear, quick acceleration is at your beck and call, and a relaxed 6th gear offers quiet, efficient highway cruising. You can choose between economical or high-performance driving—or use the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters for either temporary or full-time manual shifting. The transmission can also detect when the vehicle is on an incline, cornering, or being driven aggressively and will then adjust its shifting for optimal performance.
A singular Acura achievement is the fact that the 6-speed transmission doesn't differ significantly in size and weight from its 5-speed predecessor. It also benefits from being designed to work in harmony with the electronic Drive-by-Wire™ throttle.
