	Six years after my first edition, I have the pleasure to present you the second edition of "The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Registry" says author Eric Le Moine. Eric Le Moine made his register available to a larger circle of interested parties in 2006. This second edition thereof marks the beginning of a new phase: the new edition contains new and more current information whilst the photo material collected by Eric Le Moine complements the work with a further dimension. This register reflects the continued high degree of interest and the increasing expectations of collectors with regard to quality, originality and individual history of the vehicles.

	On the basis of original spare part kits, ZF reproduced the 5-speed transmission assembly (S 5-20), originally offered as an option for the 230, 250 and 280 SL Pagoda for more driving comfort and fun with the benefit of lower engine speeds and better fuel economy. Every single transmission has been manually assembled and extensively tested. To ensure only the highest production quality, ZF used state-of-the-art machines and manufacturing technologies like heat and surface treatment processes.
