"Surely a test pair of redesigned TLs delivered the most enjoyable overall driving of any cars in a long time — the kind of deep satisfaction that has you looking for excuses to take the long, twisty way."

— USA Today

Acura ALMS team has winning season

Acura completed its second year of American Le Mans Series competition at the Monterey Sports Car Championship with a spectacular first- and second-place finish in the LMP2 class. Andretti Green Racing's Tony Kanaan beat DeFerran Motorsport's Simon Pagenaud by a thrilling five one-hundredths of a second, the closest finish in ALMS history. For the overall season, Acura took first place in the LMP2 class in 6 out of 11 races and reached the LMP2 podium in 9 races. As a testament to the Acura ARX-01b's capability, each of the four Acura teams reached the class podium multiple times. In fact, in two of the races, Acura placed first overall—even ahead of the LMP1 class. In 2009, Acura will return to ALMS to compete in both LMP1 and LMP2 classes, as Patron Highcroft Racing and Deferran Motorsports will jump to the LMP1 class.

Acura and Real-Time Racing take championships

Peter Cunningham drove his Acura TSX to his fifth Speed World Challenge Drivers' Championship in the final SCCA Speed Touring Car race of the season. Cunningham, the founder and owner of Real-Time Racing, had more reasons to smile as teammate and four-time champion Pierre Kleinubing scored second in season points, while another Real-Time driver, Kuno Wittmer, took third. Racing nothing but Acura models, Real-Time Racing easily secured Acura its seventh Touring Car Manufacturers' Championship.

Acura sponsors Gen Art's "Fresh Faces in Fashion"

Gen Art, the leading arts and entertainment organization dedicated to promoting and showcasing emerging talent in film, fashion, music and art, held its 11th annual "Fresh Faces in Fashion" show in Los Angeles, October 10th. This year's event was hosted by Mandy Moore and featured womenswear designers Laeken, Maxine Dillon, Nanushka, Peonie, Quail and Wayf, and menswear lines K.Z.O. and Wayne Hadly. Also on display were accessories by Posso, Laura Kranitz, Jerome C. Rousseau and Azature. After the show, a capacity crowd enjoyed drinks to the pulsating beats provided by DJ Jasepi and was among the first to preview the all-new Acura TL with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™. VIP guests were also invited to enjoy custom cocktails in the W Hotel-Acura lounge.

New Yorker Festival attracts diverse lineup

In our continuing quest to advance culture and the arts, Acura was once again a proud sponsor of the New Yorker Festival, from October 3rd through October 5th in New York City. The three-day meeting of writers, artists, thinkers, strategists, and performers featured political programming and a voter registration drive, along with a diverse lineup of participants from every corner of the globe. The Acura Lounge at the festival headquarters featured the all-new TL, and festival-goers received personal demonstrations on some of the vehicle's unique technologies, as well as a special gift from Acura.
