On June 28, 1926 representatives of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) and Benz & Cie. signed the agreement for the merger of the two oldest automobile manufacturers in the world. The merger was symbolized by the new brand logo of Mercedes-Benz, registered as a new trademark in February 1925. It connected the Mercedes star of Daimler with the laurel wreath of Benz, based on the two original trademarks that originated in 1909 and were continuously developed until 1926. In early advertisements and other publications of Daimler-Benz AG, the former logos were frequently shown together with the new brand name of Mercedes-Benz.

When it was introduced, any car magazine was anxious to test what was often billed as the "fastest production sedan ever built"; or as Road & Track put it in their November issue in 1968: The 300 SEL 6.3 was "merely the greatest sedan in the world". To this day, it continues to be one of the most sought after Mercedes-Benz built in the post-war era.

This 1971 300 SEL 6.3 presents in excellent condition in its original DB040 Black with black leather interior (241). During the restoration by a renowned marque specialist, the flawless leather interior was preserved in its original condition. The car has been equipped with a hidden satellite radio unit (glove box). The car has been inspected by the Classic Center and offers the perfect opportunity for a collector or aficionado to experience this historic icon. Available for $225,000.
