The Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®)1 system uses an array of sensors along with the anti-lock braking system (ABS) to minimize the dangers of oversteer or understeer. The system continually monitors vehicle speed, throttle position, individual wheel speeds, steering angle, and vehicle yaw rate. It will, when necessary, reduce engine torque and use the ABS to apply brakes to each wheel as needed to help stabilize the vehicle. Discover this system on the RL, TL, TSX, ZDX, MDX and RDX.
| The Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™)* helps reduce the likelihood of a frontal impact by sending audio and visual alerts to warn the driver to apply the brakes if a collision is possible, and the brakes can be applied to reduce impact forces if it senses an unavoidable collision. | | Discover more | |    Acura is excited to be the official vehicle of the Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division (or S.H.I.E.L.D. for those in the know). S.H.I.E.L.D. is the fictional worldwide peacekeeping organization of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Most recently seen in this summer's blockbuster THOR, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s highly trained special agents are equipped with the most advanced weapons and sophisticated equipment, including Acura vehicles.
Impressed by Acura's attention to detail and precision manufacturing, the innovative design house Dror has partnered with Acura on a limited-edition desk—the Acura x Thor S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Desk by Dror. Developed by designer Dror Benshetrit, the desk combines elegance, secrecy, advanced technology and efficiency—all elements Dror believes both his work and Acura vehicles possess. With a finish and texture inspired by an Acura chassis, Dror interpreted an agent's work environment into a stylized and functional desk featuring a graphite and light wood base. Hidden drawers and compartments conceal Bose speakers, and an iPhone/iPad docking station was incorporated with the iconic Marvel S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in mind. The desk was on display at DDCLAB, New York in May, and will be available in limited quantities upon request to enthusiasts.
But that's not the only design cue taken from the movie. Since agents wear sleek, black suits and crisp, collared shirts and ties, in keeping with the classic sensibility of renowned American fashion designer Richard Chai's menswear collections, Acura unveiled plans to create a limited edition men's driving glove inspired by S.H.I.E.L.D. and its Acura vehicles.
"As a designer, I am influenced by pop culture and enjoyed tapping into the fantastical world of Marvel," said Chai. "The rich fabrics and details speak to the exquisite lines of an Acura."
Discover more about Dror |   Acura is pleased to be a presenting sponsor of Pageant of the Masters, a celebrated event in which real people recreate classical and contemporary artworks by posing in full regalia to look like their counterparts in the original pieces. Set in an outdoor amphitheater with an orchestra, live narration, and intricate sets, the pageant is hailed as being the best presentation of its kind. This year's theme is "Only Make Believe" and will be performed nightly from July 7 – August 31 in Laguna Beach, California.
Sharing the same grounds as the pageant is California's premier fine art exhibition, the Festival of Arts. It features 140 of the area's most accomplished artists and their original work, which will be available for purchase. The festival runs from July 3 – August 31.
